Pasavank - The monastery of Pasavank was also known as Pesavank. It was known as Dira Melan by the Kurds and Molla kilise on most older maps. Little is known of this small monastery on the banks of the Moks river, but there was an active scriptorium in the 15th century. It is believed that renovations date from the same period. The monastery is perched on a hill which drops off steeply to the river on both sides where the outlines of additional structures can faintly be determined. Today, Pasavank is in ruins as will be seen from the photographs taken in May 2014.
