Halvori vank - The Sp. Garabed vank of Halvori was the only functioning monastery in the Dersim region on the eve of the genocide. The monastery dates to the 10th century although the 19th century church most likely was constructed after a series of earthquakes in the 17th century. The monastery was an important place of pilgrimage for Armenians and a small village expanded around it. In the 1930's, the monastery was blown up and today it is essentially in ruins. The photographs were taken in June 2015.
