Armenian chapel and cemetery in the village of Varents - The village of Varents on the shores of Lake Van had an Armenian population of 176 Armenians in 31 households at the time of the genocide. These pictures were taken between May and August 2014. Within the last 5 years, the chapel has sustained additional damage with what remained of the roof collapsing, possibly during the earthquake in 2011.
